Kate Atherley - Next Steps in Brioche

Kate Atherley, Designer, tech editor, tutor and expert knitter is bring her talent to Purlescence for three of her fabulous workshops.

This half day course is for knitters with a little bit of experience with the Brioche Knitting technique and is sure to be a great deal of fun

For knitters with a little bit of experience with Brioche knitting, this class will get you started on more complex patterns, starting with Kate’s “Omnishambles” patterned brioche scarf. The session focuses on building skills and confidence with the technique.

We’ll talk about fixing mistakes, tidy edges, and working increase and decreases. Along the way we’ll share a few tips for making the process easier and more fun. Skill level: knitters must be very confident with knit and purl, and should have some experience of Brioche knitting or attended the beginners class.

Workshops at Purlescence

Workshops at Purlescence are held in the spacious and beautifully lit Yarn Room at our Leckhampstead HQ on the Berkshire Downs near Newbury. There is good access from the M4 and A34 and plenty of free parking just a few steps from our door. Should you wish to come by train, we run a free collection service from Kintbury Station.

The price of your workshop includes all refreshments and if you have booked for Saturday or both workshops on Friday, there will be a finger buffet at a suitable break during the day.
