Sunday 31st March at Purlescence HQ, Newbury

Kim McBrien Evans is a lifelong textile maven and after many years wrangling professional divas, artists and an arts council or two, she fled the art/rat race and conjured up the circus that is Indigodragonfly.

Creative Clothing Workshop - Sunday 31st March 10am to 4pm - £90

Look at the things you do everyday as a knitter: basic structures, stitch patterns, colour and design.

Learn how to “break” those structures, change them and how far you can bend them to your will. Think about the clothing you like to wear and what you like about it, and learn how to apply those details to your knitting.

Through a series of exercises, gain confidence in your own experiments and design ideas and learn how to bring them to your knitting.

There is a place for patterns, and a place for learning to let go of traditional knitting structures and make creative design decisions on your own. Simple, contemporary shapes and styles. Symmetrical and asymmetrical details. Stitches and fine details that make YOUR knitwear unique.

This is what we will explore in this class.
