Christmas closing, and Open House reminder

It's almost upon us! Monday is Royal Mail's recommended last posting day for Christmas. We'll still be dispatching those panicked last-minute packages on Tuesday, but then are heading off to Switzerland. (I had thought we'd be treating Claudia to her first sight of snow, but it seems we could actually be leaving the white Christmas behind us!)

We'll be back on 28 December. Until then, the shop stays open but orders placed now will only be posted on our return. Don't count on emails being answered before then, either. Rather, look ahead in anticipation to the fabulous January sale... and of course, for those in the area, to the first Open House event of 2010: taking place on 2 January, giving you a first shot at the sale bargains. (The online sale starts on Sunday 3rd.) As usual it's from 3-6pm on Saturday afternoon, at my home in Isleworth, west London, easily accessible by public transport; please leave a comment or email me if you'd like to be added to the Open House mailing list for full details.

Since this is the sale preview, there won't be any other OH special offers, but there is free swag. You can take your purchases home in one of these.

See you then!

Last-minute Christmas announcements

I suppose with two weeks to go, it's a bit soon to be talking about "last minute", but somehow it feels to me as if the holidays are practically upon us... which makes a change, really, from my usual pattern of thinking it's MONTHS away until, suddenly, it's Christmas Eve. Anyway. Three things.

1. Last orders for Christmas delivery must be placed by Monday 21 December. On Tuesday 22nd, we'll be making our last post office run and heading off to Switzerland. (Elfbaby gets to see snow! Yay!) I'll be back in action on the 28th. Over the break, the shop will be open, but orders will have to wait and emails probably won't be answered until our return. I'm sure you understand.

2. You've seen our gift ideas page, right? Just checking. These are all our most coveted items, plus some cute new stocking stuffers. And a man bag! I do particularly like that.

3. Ooh er: my printer has just packed it in. I'm hoping to sort it out tomorrow but just to warn you - printed gift vouchers may be a tiny little bit of a problem right now. (Electronic vouchers, obviously, no problem at all.) Stay tuned for further updates.

4. Bonus point, just because I hate to end on a downer: I have a really, really, really lovely box of yarn from Fyberspates sitting in the other room, and another on the way. These new-to-us yarns won't be up before Christmas, I shouldn't think, but it's something to look forward to. Yay!
