Pure and simple - merino is the perfect fibre for socks, being warm, elastic and soft, but non-itchy. On top of that this is machine washable!
100% merino wool
325m per 115g - two skeins needed for most socks
26st to 10cm using 3mm needles. For socks I would recommend 2mm or 2.25mm needles.
