  Runner up: Cinderella's footlets
By Temperance Blackthorne

Glass shoes, Cinderella reflected, may be very pretty but they are definitely not comfortable. They rubbed and chafed and were hot. She didn't know what she would do without socks.

Her fairy godmother should have included some with the original shoes — maybe then she wouldn't have lost one on those stairs. On the other hand, it could be argued that the lack of socks is what landed her prince and she was certainly not complaining about that!

Now that she was a princess however, socks were a must. Not only were they pretty but they were practical. And best of all she got to show off her knitting.

Cinderella thought that one of the best parts of being a princess was all the lovely yarn that people gave her. Her secret vice was cashmere, or maybe silk, it really was a tough decision.

All in all, Cinderella thought that as long as you were a princess and not dancing until midnight, glass shoes were perfect.
