THE WINNERS OF
What would Puss in Boots knit?

Wow! Once again we've had a fantastic response, with some of you really pulling out all the stops. Judging between so many witty, delightful and beautifully presented entries was very hard, but there was one clear winner - Katherine Laarzen's Castle Cat Couture was astonishing in its creativity, playfulness and fantastic presentation. We pored over the catalogue and design notebook for ages, reading the notes and fondling the fabrics; what fun!

I noticed that a lot of the stories focused on gratitude, or the lack thereof, for Puss's efforts. Better go give the cats in your life a cuddle, and make sure they know they're appreciated!

Winner: Castle Cat Couture
By Katherine Laarzen

I'm afraid you can't possibly get a full impression of this entry from what we're able to display here. Katherine submitted a lengthy story, a cover letter that verified the authenticity of the material, and a bibliography, as well as Puss's original design notebook (loved the fastening ideas, Katherine!) and the annotated Castle Cat Couture catalogue. Simply jawdropping.

Winner: Mz Boots' cat bed/toy/bag
By Kim Nguyen

In a very close race for the other winner's spot, I chose this entry because it seemed so fitting: a cat would indeed knit a bed, wouldn't she? And the design is so ingenious.

Runner up: Puss's glamour gloves
By Nikki van de Car

Nikki's Puss has a fine sense of style, and a finer sense of revenge. Better watch out!

Runner up: Puss's magical stockings
By Laura Yona

This was another wonderful story, perfectly in the fairytale tradition, where nothing is as it seems and there's a reason for everything. I want those stockings, too!
